Inspiration comes from many things: the places we live, our family and friends, personal hopes and dreams. She always wanted to write a children’s book and was inspired when a cat joined her family, from a junkyard. Author Jenny Baertsch and her family live in Winona, Minnesota, with a cat named Boots — a small kitten with a big story. Her cat’s real-life adventures are woven into her fictional story, leaving readers with an unforgettable lesson of bravery.
Jenny believes in giving back to help create a wonderful community. She’s visiting as many classrooms, libraries, and bookstores as possible, sharing her story and connecting with young minds to spread this very important message: ANYTHING is possible with hard work and bravery!
Rising Star Under 40
In October 2022, Jenny was recognized as a “Rising Star Under 40” by River Valley Media Group and the 7 Rivers Alliance. This regional award honors men and women who are committed to making a difference in their communities. Jenny was honored for the impact she’s made on the youth in her community, as well as keeping her writing and publishing process entirely local in Winona, MN. Here she is with her family: Jim (husband), Chase (son), and Tessa (daughter).
